Welcome to When Brains Bleed, a Nonprofit E-Resource helping ease the transition of adapting to life post stroke, for stroke survivors, by stroke survivors.
What's coming and should be expected from this Resource
As I try my best to recollect the most beneficial tips, tricks and adaptational life hacks for living life after stroke that I've stumbled upon since 2012 when my post stroke journey began. While hoping we will eventually have communal contributions for this E-Resource from as many stroke survivors and healthcare professionals that we can get involved. (both in the area of recovery as well as adapting to what functionality you've got, and maximizing it.
I truly believe this is the type of information on stroke could change the course of anyone's recovery and in end, their life.
Thoughts that are currently in the sphere of possibilities:
- A Community Forum - for case specific questions (adaptations, tricks, advice, even sharing your gains to keep you motivated.)
- General recovery guides that will be discoverable via search engines.
- Initiatives for raising awareness on stroke, disability, accessibility - Hospital infection misconceptions being a big one to me personally.
